How compounding works
Made to the formula, proven on the record.
Compounding is the preparation of a medication tailored to a specific prescription, strength or form. We treat every preparation as a documented, tested batch.
Manufactured drugs are made for the average patient. Compounding is made for a specific one. When a commercial product doesn’t fit, when the strength isn’t available, the form is wrong, or the medication itself is in shortage, a compounding pharmacy prepares it to the prescription instead. It is how a provider gets exactly what a protocol calls for, rather than the closest thing on a shelf.
InterX operates as a 503A pharmacy. That designation matters: under U.S. law, 503A compounding is the legal pathway for preparing patient-specific medications, including peptides such as Tirzepatide and Retatrutide, against a valid prescription. We work entirely within that framework, registered with the FDA and licensed by the State of Florida, so what we make is both tailored and legitimate.
The hard part isn’t mixing a formula. It’s doing it the same way, cleanly and accurately, every single time, and being able to prove it afterward. That’s the part most of the industry keeps out of sight. We put it on the record. Here is how an order moves through our facility.
How compounding works
From script to shipment, on the record.
Compounding is the preparation of a medication tailored to a specific prescription, strength or form. Here is how an order moves through our facility, and where the proof comes from at each step.
Prescribe
A provider sends the script with the exact compound, strength and form. Patients start from a consultation, and we coordinate the fill with their prescriber.
Compound
Pharmacists prepare each order to that formula in our 503A facility, under USP <797> and <800> standards, with weights and steps recorded as they go.
Analyze
Before anything is released, the batch is tested for identity, potency and sterility, and the certificate of analysis is issued for the lot.
Ship
Released orders go out fast, shipped cold-chain and tracked, typically within 48 hours, with the COA and lot record attached.
